Lauft nun weiter in den Bereich hinein bis ihr eine große Sitzgruppe seht, die sich zwischen den Bereichen Schöne Literatur und Heimatkunde befindet. Zum einen können Bibliotheksnutzer hier gemütlich Platz nehmen, ein wenig in Büchern schmökern und ins Gespräch darüber kommen. Zum anderen finden hier auch kleinere Diskussionsveranstaltungen statt, z.B. debattieren hier Lokalpolitiker mit Dresdner Schulklassen.

Am Rand befindet sich ein Präsentationsmöbel mit Infoscreen, das in seiner Gestaltung an die Form der Kuppel der nahegelegenen Kunsthalle der Hochschule für Bildende Künste, der sogenannten „Zitronenpresse“, angelehnt ist. Den Namen des Bereiches könnt ihr auf den Beschilderungen lesen.

Now walk further into the room until you see a large seating area located between the Fiction and Local History sections. On the one hand, library users can take a comfortable seat here, browse through books and talk about them, on the other hand, smaller discussion events also take place here, e.g. debates between local politicians and school classes.

At the edge there is a presentation piece of furniture with an information screen, the design of which is based on the shape of the dome of the nearby art gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, the so-called "lemon squeezer". You can read the name of the area on the signage.

Mit dem Umbau des Kulturpalastes wurden im Jahre 2017 die beiden zentralen städtischen Bibliotheken im Herzen der Stadt unter einem Dach zusammengeführt und bieten heute einen modernen Ort der Begegnung, des Austausches und Lernens. Mit dieser Lab Cache-Reihe führen wir euch durch das erste Obergeschoss der Zentralbibliotheken. Neben Büchern, CDs und Filmen haben wir jede Menge andere Angebote und hoffen, dass ihr vielleicht die ein oder andere Überraschung entdeckt, wie man seine Freizeit bei uns im Haus gestalten kann. Am besten startet ihr einen Rundgang im Uhrzeigersinn bei der Station "Beste Bücher"

Die Adventure Labs sind im Rahmen des Geocaching Mega-Events GCAB00K entstanden. Bitte beachtet, dass die Stationen nur zu den Öffnungszeiten der Bibliothek gespielt werden können (Mo - Sa, jeweils 10 - 19 Uhr)

With the renovation of the Kulturpalast in 2017, the city's two central municipal libraries were combined under one roof, creating a modern space for encounter, exchanging ideas, and learning. This Lab Cache series will guide you through the first floor of the Central Library. In addition to books, CDs, and films, there is a lot more to explore and we hope you'll discover some surprising ways to spend your free time here. It's best to start a clockwise tour at the "Best Books" Lab stage.
