Die 729 steinernen «Blätter» mit buddhistischen Lehren, die zur Kuthodaw-Pagode in Mandalay gehören, sind im klassischen Sinne kein Buch. Die 49 "Seiten" sind weder gebunden noch handlich, aber nach der Unesco-Definition zählen sie statistisch gesehen zu Büchern.

Glaubt man hingegen dem Guiness Buch der Rekorde, dann steht das größte Buch der Welt in Dubai. Es misst 5 m x 8,06 m, wiegt etwa 1500 kg und besteht aus 429 Seiten. Konkurrenz bekam es nur wenige Monate nach seiner Enthüllung im Feburar 2012, denn es folgte ein weiteres religiöses Werk im indischen Jaipur, das 9,14 m x 7,31 m misst.
