Gemessen am Katalogumfang ist dies die US Library of Congress in den USA, die im November 2021 173.731.463 Objekte beherbergte. Die Sammlung umfasst 41 Millionen Bücher und andere Druckerzeugnisse, 4,1 Millionen Tonträger, 15 Millionen Fotografien, 5,6 Millionen Landkarten und 75 Millionen Manuskripte, die sich auf rund 1349 Kilometer (838 Meilen) Bücherregale verteilen. Die Bibliothek erweitert ihre Sammlungen täglich um etwa 12 000 Objekte.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, Fin has to go to Washington, D.C. to visit the largest library in the world. In terms of catalog size, this record is held by the US Library of Congress in the USA, which had 173,731,463 items in November 2021. The collection comprises 41 million books and other printed materials, 4.1 million sound recordings, 15 million photographs, 5.6 million maps and 75 million manuscripts, spread over around 1.349 km (838 miles) of bookshelves. The library adds around 12,000 items to its collections every day.
