Der Buchfink Fin begibt sich nun ins Kloster, um die älteste, noch in Betreib befindliche Bibliothek zu besuchen. Sie befindet sich am Fuße des Berges Sinai in Ägypten im Katharinenkloster. Fast 1500 Jahre ist sie alt und wurde vermutlich zwischen 527 - 565 n.Chr. auf Geheiß des byzantinischen Kaisers Justinian I. errichtet. Die Bibliothek beherbergt eine der weltweit bedeutendsten Sammlungen frühchristlicher Handschriften, die 3 300 Exemplare der so genannten "Alten Sammlung".

The finch Fin now is flying to a monastery to visit the oldest library still in operation. It is located at the foot of Mount Sinai in Egypt in St. Catherine's Monastery. It is almost 1500 years old and was probably built between 527 - 565 AD at the behest of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I. The library houses one of the world's most important collections of early Christian manuscripts, the 3,300 copies of the so-called "Old Collection".
