November 1994 bei Christie's in New York für 30,8 Millionen Dollar verkauft. Inflationsbereinigt würde sein Wert im Jahr 2024 um die 60 Millionen Dollar betragen. Microsoft-Mitbegründer Bill Gates kaufte den Codex, den da Vinci um 1508 begonnen hatte. Die etwa 30 mal 22 Zentimeter großen Seiten waren einst zu einem Buch gebunden, werden jetzt aber separat ausgestellt.

Originally sold for $30.8 million at Christie's in New York on November 11, 1994, its value would be $49.4 million when adjusted for inflation in 2014. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates bought the Codex, which da Vinci began around 1508. The pages, about 30 cm by 22 cm in size, were once bound as a book but are now displayed separately.
